It all started with a little glue, ribbon, and drug-store hair clips. Inspired to find an alternative to enormous satin bows for my daughter’s ringlets, this former magazine writer thought she’d whip up a few simpler hair clips on her own. Fast-forward a few weeks and the ribbons and craft boxes were taking over the living room. When my husband announced either he or the barrettes had to relocate to the basement, I took it as a sign: this obsession had morphed into more than just a casual hobby and I decided to launch a business. Now that my two children are a little older, they love to play around with all the fabrics, grosgrains and felt flowers, and once or twice, have even sparked the idea for a new design. With my husband providing some much-needed business advice, Mopsy has truly become a family affair.
